My Journey into Wrath of the Lich King, with a Little Help Along the Way
I have been playing Wrath of the Lich King for a little while now and a few people asked me to give my impressions. While I’ll save the details of my journeys for longer posts, I wanted to toss out a tool I’ve been using to help in said journey and a few comments on why it has been so useful to me thus far.
When you get started in Northrend, the breadth of content is pretty large. You have two starting zones to choose from with more than 130 quests each for each faction and a whole lot of different reputation factions, tons of new instances, and a whole lot of new professions, gold grinding spots, and even an option to go back north to the classic continents of WoW and start a Death Knight. If you haven’t played yet, trust me when I say that you will be overwhelmed when you first set foot into the new content.
So, what does my tool have to do with all that? Well, what I’m talking about is WotLK Secrets. You may have heard about it already – a lot of people are talking about it because it’s been incredibly helpful to a lot of players. Basically, it’s a complete starters guide to Northrend and all things WotLK with in depth strategies, secrets about the game and everything you need to know about every ounce of new content.
Trust me when I say I’m not overstating anything here – this guide truly does cover every bit of the new expansion with more than 240 pages of detail on what you’re going to see and do. And when I was just getting started, it helped me not only figure out where I was going and what I was doing – it showed me what I needed to go back and redo and what I was skimping on. World Of Warcraft Power Levelling Tips
The easiest way to level up on World of Warcraft is to play smart when it comes to completing your quests. If you can take all your quests in a particular zone at the same time then you will avoid a lot of wasted wandering time. To collect all your quests make sure that when you enter a new area that you get all the quests from the NPC's.
You should also considering teaming up with other players to help you achieve quests quicker. It is obviously better if you have to kill a certain amount of something if you have 2 or 3 players on the quest at the same time. Once you get to the point where the quest is complete then you can go back to soloing and then start another group when you need one.
If you can do a lot of quests that are a few levels below you really help to increase your EXP. Green quests are also quick and are easy to gain EXP. If your struggling with a quest and keep getting killed then it is best to try something else as you could be wasting a lot of time trying to complete the quest. You should also consider dumping quests that are gray or take a lot of running around to complete.
And finally don;t forget that the playing area is probably far larger than the areas you go into to complete you quest so every so often take some time out to see the detail that the developers have put into the rest of the game.

I make my 2 Mystic Spellthread an place it for sale for 80g each. By the next day without fail these 2 spellthread have sold and I make 160g. That is a profit of 60g a day and it takes me all of 2 minutes to complete the whole process. This is just one technique I learned from a good World Of Warcraft gold guide. These guide books show you how to use techniques like the one above as well as grinding / farming mats, questing, raiding and many other techniques to make WoW gold from even the lowest levels.

I didn’t know anything about it until a few days after it had already been launched and a friend asked me to check it out with him. WotLK Secrets was the name of the new guide and it was reported to be a complete guide that covered everything that would be in the Wrath of the Lich King expansion pack when it hit on November 13th. I was intrigued because I had not done nearly as much research and studying of the pack as I would have liked (didn’t make it into beta L), so I sat down to peruse what I thought was going to be a quick and easy to read guide.
Three days and 250 pages later I realized that it was anything but a short guide and I had spent the better part of three nights reading it. Of course I won’t complain even in the slightest because I felt like I had learned just about everything I could possibly learn short of the exact leveling paths in Northrend that I would need to stomp everyone in sight when I got into the new content.
If you haven’t seen or heard about WotLK Secrets yet, trust me – it is one heck of a guide. It’s pretty much a complete guide for anyone that needs a primer on anything to do with WotLk and it comes with full strategies for mastering new raids, instances, and professions as well as full listings of everything you’ll encounter, need to do, and probably be stuck at. World of Warcraft: night elves gather as WoW comes to London
By day, Scott Hamshere, 24, is a la-bourer from Bromley. By night, he transforms himself into a night elf warrior, journeying the lands of Azeroth, battling demons and completing quests in the World of Warcraft.
He should have been the first person in Britain to get a copy of the latest instalment of Warcraft, the world’s most popular online computer game. He had queued for over 40 hours outside HMV in Oxford Street for the honour. But as the barriers were lifted at midnight on Wednesday it was all too much, and the night elf warrior collapsed from exhaustion.
“I think the tiredness and hunger, anticipation and adrenalin all got the better of me,” he said yesterday. “Braving the cold for that many hours has an effect on your body. It was a bit of a silly thing to do.”
Scott’s level of dedication for the game was easily understood by the thousand or so people who had joined the queue behind him. They are among the 11 million people who play the online game, paying a monthly subscription of about £9.
To the passer-by, this crowd of eager gamers in Oxford Street may have looked human. In their own minds, however, they were a mob of mythical heroes, among them dwarfs, blood elfs and orcs.
For these gamers, the doors to the record store had become the gates to Northrend, the new continent that Warcraft players will be able to explore in the expanded game. The fans were an invading army and after they had counted down the final seconds before the tills opened, they let out an almighty roar.
As the excitement peaked at the front of the line, Chris Hughes, 40, an IT worker, joined the back of the queue, where the mood was more sombre.
“I think we underestimated how many people would be here,” he said. “We can always go to Tesco tomorrow and get a copy if they run out.”
The latest expansion of the game, Wrath of the Lich King, is one of the most eagerly anticipated computer game releases in a month full of new blockbuster games. Last weekend Gears of War 2, on the Microsoft Xbox 360 console, sold over two million copies in the days after its release. For the launch of Lich King, 15,000 stores around the world were opening at midnight to satisfy demand.
Players ofWarcraftspend hours going on quests and doing battle with one another, building up their character – “levelling up” in the game’s jargon – to gain the powers and abilities of a small god.
Far from the stereotypical image of the sad teenager playing the game alone, however, the vast majority of the crowd in Central London had turned up with the friends or family with whom they compete.
Emma Hintze, 21, had travelled with her boyfriend from Canterbury to join the queue. “Playing Warcraft is like watching a really great film,” she said. “But you’re immersed in it, and changing it constantly.”
She admitted that she had no hope of getting back home in the early hours to play the game, and would have to wait until the trains started running again in the morning.
“I knew I wouldn’t get to play tonight, but I just wanted to be here with other people who were also into it. It’s a social game, and this is a social experience.”
The game’s success is thanks to a dedicated audience who can’t get enough of the ever-evolving virtual world that Blizzard, the game-makers, have created. “The content we have with Lich King is the best we’ve ever created,” said Paul Sams, a Blizzard executive.
Mr Sams was treated more like a celebrity than a board member of a multimillion-dollar company, with fans lining up for hours to get his signature. “Events like these are humbling,” he said. “We’re just as excited about playing the game as them.”
As for Mr Hamshere, Blizzard gave him a collector’s edition free after hearing of his collapse. He said he would put off playing it for a day because he needed time to recover.

Emma Hintze, 21, had travelled with her boyfriend from Canterbury to join the queue. “Playing Warcraft is like watching a really great film,” she said. “But you’re immersed in it, and changing it constantly.”
She admitted that she had no hope of getting back home in the early hours to play the game, and would have to wait until the trains started running again in the morning.
“I knew I wouldn’t get to play tonight, but I just wanted to be here with other people who were also into it. It’s a social game, and this is a social experience.”
The game’s success is thanks to a dedicated audience who can’t get enough of the ever-evolving virtual world that Blizzard, the game-makers, have created. “The content we have with Lich King is the best we’ve ever created,” said Paul Sams, a Blizzard executive.
Mr Sams was treated more like a celebrity than a board member of a multimillion-dollar company, with fans lining up for hours to get his signature. “Events like these are humbling,” he said. “We’re just as excited about playing the game as them.”
As for Mr Hamshere, Blizzard gave him a collector’s edition free after hearing of his collapse. He said he would put off playing it for a day because he needed time to recover.

So Map, record, elaborate and while it may sound a little dull to begin with, when you carry it to it's natural end and you've leveled four times faster than everyone else, the dullness doesn't smart so much.
